How can interactive technology
tools support digital leadership?
For the past five years, I have been fortunate to lead a school that has been part of a large scale educational technology pilot program that has placed both mobile and static classroom technology in the hands of students and teachers. This has been enhanced by the successful completion of two TLLP projects , the first involving technology and the arts. The second project involved technology and mathematics. Throughout this journey, I was simultaneously immersed in a Masters of Professional Education program that from the outset brought to the forefront the importance of strong digital leadership for twenty-first century learning. Working through my own digital leadership learning, I have realized the need to support school leaders as they delve into an ever expanding and changing digital landscape. The need for guidance is supported by literature that spans the last fifteen years. The combination of personal, professional and scholarly alignment of purpose has created a need to explore the creation of a website that will support emerging digital leaders (school principals). An interactive website offers the ideal format to guide leaders as it allows participants to connect, communicate and collaborate to support their digital leadership journey.
